Sheila Pehrson MSTAT

Welcome to my web-site! Here you can find out about my teaching and the benefits it can bring.

I am a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique with nearly 30 years' experience. I give individual lessons in Lower Shiplake, near Henley-on-Thames.

What is the Alexander Technique, and how can it help?
The Technique helps you identify and avoid harmful postural habits that can cause stress and pain. It is a life skill that applies whether you are performing on a stage or standing at the kitchen sink.

Over time, the way we stand, sit, and walk has a profound effect on our physical and mental well-being. In a busy life, we inevitably develop habits of posture and movement. The Alexander Technique works by helping you to recognise and remedy harmful postural habits, and thus recover your natural poise and balance.

My Teaching
In nearly 30 years of teaching, I have worked with a wide range of pupils. Some have come for self-development, but more usually people have something to address in their lives. I have seen pupils with issues ranging from Parkinson’s to exam stress, from back pain to anxiety, from pregnancy to stage presence.

My aim is to help each pupil understand their world and their response to it.
