'I find the Alexander Technique very helpful in my work. Things happen without you trying. They get to be light and relaxed. You must get an Alexander teacher to show it to you.'

I am a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique, having completed my training in 1988. My first experience was eight years earlier following a friend's recommendation, and I began to have regular lessons. I noticed many beneficial changes, with an increased sense of calm as well as more comforable posture and increasing confidence.

Inspired by the powerful and lasting effects I had myself experienced, I decided to train as a teacher and joined the training course run by Dick and Elisabeth Walker (themselves having trained with F M Alexander).

As an Alexander Technique teacher, I have worked with various conditions including arthritis, back pain, insomnia, neck pain, osteoporosis, Parkinson's, and pregnancy. Particularly interesting was to assist in rehabilitation following injury and surgery. There have also been some pupils who simply want to improve their quality of life or to realise their full potential in skills such as music and sport.
